About

Originally from the Philippines, Ernielson Limbo, is a London-based artist working across photography and installations.

Immigrating to the UK at 8 years old, Limbo became aware and grew interest in the conflicting norms and values between his traditional Filipino background and his new surroundings.

Graduating from The University for the CreativeArts, Limbo explores social conventions and themes relating to sexuality and gender fluidity. Stemming from personal experiences and sentiments, Limbo has an abstract approach which challenges both society’s and photography's limitations.

Limbo produces artwork by using personal archived photography, alongside capturing images, mixed media, and utilising pre-existing images to portray his story.

Limbo has exhibited internationally and has been published as part of “The Photography’s Ideas Book” in partnership with TATE.
